Every number on GameDropDaily comes from an official, public source, refreshed automatically every day. This page lists each source and exactly what we take from it.
Sources, by platform
- PC — Steam's public most-played charts (24-hour concurrent peaks), store metadata, and each game's official developer announcements via Steam's news API. Every patch-note excerpt links back to the original announcement.
- iOS — Apple's public App Store top-free and top-grossing charts (iTunes RSS) plus the Lookup API for ratings, version history, and the developer's official "What's New" notes.
- Android — the public Google Play top-free chart with each listing's install counts, ratings, and official changelog.
- Nintendo Switch — the official Nintendo US storefront's public catalog for upcoming releases and pre-orders. Nintendo doesn't publish a sales-rank feed, so we show a release calendar, not a popularity chart we can't verify.
- Redeem codes — the community-maintained hoyo-codes API (hourly-updated, daily-validated). Each code page shows when it was last verified. We never list codes we can't verify.
Refresh cadence
The whole site rebuilds and redeploys once a day. Every page shows its data date ("updated …"), and our sitemap reports honest last-modified dates — pages that didn't change don't claim they did.
Rules we hold ourselves to
- Rankings are the platforms' own charts — we never invent or reorder a leaderboard.
- Release dates render exactly as the store publishes them; a "2027" announcement stays "2027", never a fabricated day.
- No AI-fabricated guides, tier lists, or reviews. Update notes are the developers' own words, excerpted and linked.
- If a data source breaks, we keep serving the last good snapshot and say so — we don't blank a section or fake continuity.
